Kindergarten Round-up

Kindergarten round-up is just around the corner. This year the registration part of the round-up will be held on Monday February 28th at  6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Primary School. The student orientation portion of kindergarten roundup will be held in May. The date for this year's round up is earlier than in the past to allow us to for the needs of next year's kindergarten class.

In the next couple of weeks, parents of kindergarten-eligible students will be receiving forms in the mail to complete and bring to kindergarten roundup. If you do not receive the forms by February 15th or if you have questions about the round-up or about kindergarten in general, please feel free to contact the elementary school office.

We are looking forward to meeting the class of 2024 and working together to make sure that each child enjoys a great Loup City Public Schools experience.

Survey for LCPS patrons who have not received mass notification calls

The Loup City Public Schools recently launched our new mass-notification system. This system automatically places phone calls to district parents, staff, and patrons with news of school cancellations and postponements, rescheduled events, etc.

Notifications were sent by our mass notification system  regarding school closings due to bad weather on January 10th and 11th. In an effort to fine-tune our system, we are asking that any district parents, patrons or staff who did not receive the notifications please fill out the short form, at the link below, to help us update our system. The form also contains an opt-out feature for anyone who does not want to receive notifications.

The survey may be accessed at:

Please remember to click, "submit," at the bottom of the form. Patrons can also call the district office at 308-745-0120 to update contact information.

ADT Mass Notification Test

Earlier today we tested our new mass notification system. All parents, district employees, and Board members should have received a test phone message. We will be doing more testing next week, which will include contacting individuals who did not receive test messages to update contact information. Thanks for your patience and cooperation while me put our new mass notification system into place.

A new Board Member, Cindy Erickson, will be sworn in at the January Meeting.
Going off of the Board is, Gary Dethlefs, who leaves with our special thanks for all that he has done for our district during his time on the Loup City Board of Education.
